Many leaders think they are giving good enough feedback, but find they are not consistently making a difference…
This course equips you to give clear, courageous, supportive feedback to peers, colleagues and seniors – helping you become the person who allows others the insights they need to succeed.

Course Overview
Participants will work in a small peer group and address communication challenges chosen from their own clinical practice, management, team and teaching roles.

Enhance Feedback Delivery Skillso Support healthcare professionals with practical techniques for delivering clear, constructive, and timely feedback.o Promote the use of structured feedback models (e.g., SBI – Situation-Behavior-Impact, Pendleton’s rules).
Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvemento Encourage feedback as a regular and integral part of clinical or management practice, not just a corrective tool.o Support open dialogue that promotes learning and accountability among all staff.
Improve Communication Clarity and Precisiono Develop skills in using unambiguous, respectful, and patient-centered language when discussing performance.o Avoid miscommunication that may negatively impact team morale.
Build Confidence in Giving and Receiving Feedbacko Help participants manage discomfort around difficult conversations.o Provide strategies to receive feedback with openness and use it for professional growth.

Dr Calum Arthur
EC4H Lead Tutor
Dr Calum Arthur is an experienced psychological coach and performance psychologist, with extensive experience across high performing environments, including the Military, Olympic Sports and Health Sectors. Calum currently works as a Senior Lecturer in Surgical Performance at the University of Edinburgh, contributing to cutting edge research in surgeon performance.
