Throwing, tiles and press moulds half day course

This half day workshop is ideal for complete (adult) beginners. Fiona and Chris will show you how to make a unique dish using our studio pressmoulds, and a selection of hand made tiles. These will be decorated using coloured slips, combined with exploring mark making, pattern and texture on the surface. Everyone will make a pot on the wheel, and Chris will take you through all the basics of centering, hollowing out and forming your small bowl or cup. These will be finished, glazed and fired for you.

We give everyone lots of hands-on support, and all tools, materials, and preparation is included. We have aprons you can use.

Everything will be ready to collect about 3-4 weeks later. This workshop is ideal for either as a one off session, or as an introduction to starting a longer weekly course. 

The studio is self contained, on the ground floor and easily reached by public transport- nearest buses are 34, 35, 36 and 16 and the tram (shore stop) is a 5 min walk. Parking is limited. 

No need to bring anything - just your enthusiasm! Comfortable trousers recommended for sitting at the wheel, old clothes are best that you don't mind getting messy. 

Like all our courses, we are not able to accommodate those under 17 due to health and safety/insurance requirements.
