A fireside chat with Laura McAllister: Voice and agency: how we secure our places at the top tables of sport

Professor Laura McAllister CBE was elected to UEFA's Executive Committee as a Vice President in 2023. She is currently only woman and the first female Vice President, as well as the first ever Welsh person to sit on the Executive. At the recent 48th Annual Congress, the number of women on the Committee was mandated to two seats, up from the one, which Laura currently holds, while last year, the Committee announced women should make up 25% of its committees and panels in the 2023-27 period.

Cymru Women's Sport (CWS) invites you to this fireside chat with Laura, in discussion with Beth Fisher, journalist and former Welsh Hockey international (and CWS Board Member!) and asks the question - how do we secure our places at the top tables of sport?

Women's sport is on the rise, but there is still so much to do. We will also try to share ideas to build the tools women need to break the glass ceiling with their own hammers, and find out what more male allies can be doing to support women on the journey.

Held at the intimate Central Cardiff venue at Big Moose's original coffee shop, there will be a chance to listen to the discussion and ask questions of the pair.

When leaving the event, we want each guest to ask, what more can we each do to make sure women get a seat at the table?
