QUESTIONING is an interactive performance-experiment situated at the crossroads of theatre, psychological practice, and social research. There are no actors in the conventional sense and no stage. The main protagonists are the spectators themselves.

During the performance, participants sit opposite one another and receive a simple yet precise task: to fill out an anonymous questionnaire about the person in front of them, relying solely on first impressions, facial expressions, gestures, and eye contact. In the final part, each participant receives their own “portrait,” composed by others. These texts can be ironic, unexpectedly accurate, or deeply touching—and they almost always provoke a strong emotional response.

Format and number of participants

The performance is designed for groups of 20 to 100 people, making it ideally suited for corporate teams and closed presentations. The format is easily adaptable to a specific group and space and can be presented in a theatre, an office, or an external venue.

Project history

The project was created by the Swiss-German collective Magic Garden and has become a notable phenomenon on the European scene in recent years. QUESTIONING has been presented more than 300 times in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Belgium, consistently attracting strong interest from both audiences and professionals.

Its success lies in a rare combination of intellectual depth, playful structure, and genuine human connection. In 2026, the project is adapted and presented in Cyprus for the first time as part of the Cyprus International Theatre Festival.

Event format for HR and corporate partners

This presentation of QUESTIONING is conceived as a professional encounter and an entry point into the format, rather than a traditional theatrical evening.

Event structure:

• 60 minutes — performance of QUESTIONING

• 20 minutes — moderated discussion of the experience and impressions

• 30 minutes — open conversation with the leadership of CITF

  (about adapting the format for companies, corporate performances, partnerships, and cultural programmes)

We invite HR professionals, company executives, event agencies, and specialists who:

• see the importance of building a cultural environment within companies,

• work with corporate culture, values, and internal communication,

• are looking for non-trivial tools for team development,

• or can support the further development and dissemination of this format.

The number of places is limited, as the format requires personal involvement and active participation.

This invitation is strictly addressed to a professional audience—those who consciously engage with cultural agendas within companies and are interested not merely in an event, but in a sustainable and meaningful tool for working with people.

Эти тексты могут быть ироничными, неожиданно точными или трогательными — и почти всегда вызывают сильный эмоциональный отклик.

Спектакль рассчитан на группы от 20 до 100 человек, что делает его идеально подходящим для корпоративных команд и закрытых показов. Формат легко адаптируется под конкретный состав участников и пространство — показ может проходить как в театральном зале, так и в офисе или внешней локации.

История проекта

Проект создан швейцарско-немецким коллективом Magic Garden и за последние годы стал заметным явлением на европейской сцене. QUESTIONING был показан более 300 раз в Швейцарии, Германии, Австрии и Бельгии и неизменно вызывал большой интерес у зрителей и профессионалов.

Его успех связан с редким сочетанием интеллектуальной глубины, игровой формы и подлинного человеческого контакта. В 2026 году проект впервые адаптирован и представлен на Кипре в рамках Cyprus International Theatre Festival.
