Join us for another exciting speaker series, this time a geopolitics-focused panel discussion and a networking reception.
The panel will deep dive into topics shaping the politics of Central and Eastern Europe, with a special focus on the upcoming Czech Parliamentary and the recent Polish Presidential elections. They will explore the recent developments of party politics, voting trends and how these have shaped the countries relations with the rest of Europe.
Our panel, featuring distinguished expert speakers, includes:
Dr Sean Hanley - UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies
He is a UK-based academic with 20 years of research and teaching experience centring on Central and Eastern Europe. His specialties include Czech politics; politics in East and Central Europe, political parties; right-wing politics; euroscepticism; comparative democratization; political representation of older people in Central and Eastern Europe.
Aleks Szczerbiak - University of Sussex
His research and teaching has focused on: comparative Central and East European politics (especially Poland), the impact of European integration on national politics, political parties and electoral politics, the politics of transitional justice, and religion and politics.
