About the Event
Chasing Nothing is a multidisciplinary performance that explores how desire shapes human experience, through movement, sound, and installation. A new three-act ballet set to electronic music, explores the psychological archetypes and the human search for connection. As dancers embody different aspects of the psyche, the audience is invited to reflect on desire, identity, and what it is we are all ultimately chasing.
Central to the performance is an installation by visual artist Dominic Kießling. Known for his minimalistic and time-based artworks, Kießling's creations often involve delicate materials like foil and the subtle use of air currents.
A special sound installation by d&b audiotechnik extends into the acoustic space. Utilizing spatial audio technology, the system creates a three-dimensional soundscape mapped to the performers and installation, enabling the sound to create an immersive sensory experience.

The Performances
Shaked Heller and Ballet Sur_real will present a new choreographic creation, combining dance with a live musical performance by John Carlsson.
Shaked Heller has danced with the Zurich Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, and now Staatsballett Berlin, performing works by Willam Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, and Sharon Eyal amongst others. He has been nominated multiple times as Dancer of the Year (tanz, Dance Europe) and Choreographer of the Year (tanz), with praise from The New York Times and Dance Europe.
John Carlsson is a composer and pianist whose sound fuses neoclassical with experimental electronica. Currently he is working on a new EP with renowned collaborators.
Ballet Sur_real the official ballet ensemble of DANCÆ, focuses on combining ballet with electronic music, incorporating immersive installations and tech into their choreographic works.
