DAN CHAMBERS COMICS WORKHOPS

Does your child love comics? Then they'll love this workshop, run by Bafta-winning animator, illustrator and comic artist Dan Chambers!

With 20 years' experience, having animated, written, directed and voiced characters on world-class TV shows (including Peppa Pig, Charlie and Lola and Mr Bean) Dan's passion is making comics, and helping others make them. Comics are a unique artform that tie together many disciplines including storytelling, hand/eye coordination, planning, imagination, focus and problem-solving.

The workshop starts with Dan drawing a live comic, built from the group's craziest suggestions and other fun techniques for generating characters, locations and ideas. Then everyone dives into their own comic, with Dan on hand for guidance and encouragement, but with a light touch, so kids can say the comic is 100% their own work. It's a fun, low-stakes, small-group session that fosters creativity, and many participants come back again and again.
Dan's aim is for your child to leave with renewed inspiration, more confidence in their drawing, and a comic they've made entirely themselves. All materials supplied.

Ages 7-12. Adults to accompany. £25 per child.

How to Find the Studios:
The address for the workshop is Creative Studio Ruislip, Cart Shed 2, Manor Farm Estate, Bury Street, Ruislip HAQ4 7SU.

The venue is in a small gravel courtyard in the grounds of The Great Barn Ruislip, close to the Manor Farm Library, accessed via Bury Street.

Parking:
If there is an event taking place at The Great Barn parking in the gravel courtyard will be unavailable. However, if the gates to the courtyard are open you are welcome to park for the duration of the workshop.

Alternatively, there are two car parks which are close by. St. Martin’s Approach Carpark (pay and display) which is a 3-minute walk through the Manor Farm site to the courtyard, with the library on your lefthand side. And there is Brown's Restaurant (fees apply) which is again a couple of minutes' walk away, or you may be able to get parking on Bury Street subject to restrictions.
