'Actionism' - Film Screening at Velo Domestique

Join Us for an Inspiring Evening of Film, Connection & Conversation

It’s time to build hope for ourselves, our communities and the planet we all share. That hope begins by reconnecting with ourselves, with each other and with nature. Velo Domestique is the perfect setting to nurture the power of community and learn from compassionate people doing what they love, together.

On Thursday 10th July, Nick Whitnell of Daring Works will be hosting a special screening of ACTionism. 

ACTionism is a powerful short film featuring Jon Alexander (author of Citizens) about finding your people and taking collective action. It explores the transformation from passive consumer to active citizen placing community, agency and joy at the centre of change.

The story follows Ellie, a young woman navigating the heavy weight of climate anxiety. Her journey takes her from isolation to connection, from fear to hope as she discovers the value of citizenship, friendship and meaningful action.

This film is a clear, moving call to action for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the state of the world. It shows how regular people just like us can reclaim agency, find purpose, and thrive in uncertain times.

Following the 30-minute screening, Nick will facilitate a 45-minute group discussion to explore the film’s themes and share ideas. After that, the Velo Domestique bar will be open for drinks and connection.
