Artificial Intelligence is quickly changing from separate models to a connected system that relies on data, faster computing, cloud services, semiconductors, and new quantum technologies. This coming together is transforming scientific discovery, business innovation, and digital change across various fields.

This keynote looks at how combining AI, high-performance computing (HPC), data infrastructure, and quantum computing is creating next-generation smart systems for healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, energy, cybersecurity, and sustainable cities. It shares a vision for creating scalable, reliable, and strong AI ecosystems that can speed up innovation while tackling increasingly complex global issues.

The talk will also showcase India's swift growth in AI through investments in digital public infrastructure, AI research, semiconductor technologies, supercomputing, and quantum projects. It shows how coordinated national strategies can boost innovation and talent on a large scale, and how those advances open new chances for international cooperation among universities, businesses, and governments to build an open, secure, and inclusive global AI ecosystem. As AI moves into its next stage, gaining a competitive edge will rely not just on creating better algorithms, but on building the smart digital structure that supports the future of science, industry, and society.

About Prof. Amlan Chakrabarti

Prof. (Dr.) Amlan Chakrabarti is a Visiting Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and Professor at the University of Calcutta, India. His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models, High-Performance Computing, Quantum Computing, Computer Vision, and Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems, with an emphasis on translating cutting-edge research into real-world industrial and societal impact.

Over the past two decades, he has led AI and advanced computing research programs supported by the Government of India, Intel, IBM Quantum, AWS, HCLTech, TCS, and L&T, spanning foundation models, trustworthy AI, semiconductor technologies, edge intelligence, and quantum computing for applications in healthcare, manufacturing, smart cities, sustainable infrastructure, and cybersecurity.

Prof. Chakrabarti has held visiting appointments at Princeton University, the University of Cambridge, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany), University of Connecticut and University of Texas at El Paso (USA), Kyushu Institute of Technology, CERN, University of Oradea (Romania), and Lincoln University (Malaysia). He is an ACM Distinguished Speaker, an IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor, an ACM Senior Member, and a Fellow of the West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology. He has supervised 26 Ph.D. scholars, led 19 major funded research projects, and published 250+ scientific papers in leading journals and conferences including Nature, IEEE, ACM, Springer, and Elsevier.
