Technology Is Not Neutral: A Short Guide to Technology Ethics

You're welcome to join us for the first Data Science: Ethics & Society Reading Group session of 2024, on Thursday 7th of March 2024 at 12:00-13:00.

The event is FREE to attend, but places are limited so please sign up to reserve your spot! Ticket sales end on Thursday 22nd of February at 17:00.

We will be discussing Technology Is Not Neutral: A Short Guide to Technology Ethics, by Stephanie Hare

“What is technology ethics? Ask a computer scientist, a philosopher or a sociologist and you’ll certainly get very different responses. In her ambitious book, Technology Is Not Neutral: A Short Guide to Technology Ethics, Stephanie Hare attempts to answer this difficult question by weaving together perspectives from science and technology studies (STS), the digital humanities and human-computer interaction (HCI), as well as her underpinning philosophical framework.”

See our GitHub page for more information.

Please consider either buying the book from a local, independent bookseller, or picking up a used copy online, or borrowing from your local library. We have secured a discount, details will be shared in the order confirmation.
