Klara and the Sun, Kazuo Ishiguro

Join us at the Data Ethics & Society Reading Group on Wednesday 25th November at 12:00-13:00.

The event is FREE to attend, but places are limited so please sign up to reserve your spot! (Registration closes on Friday 20th November at 17:00)

This session we will be discussing Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. The novel asks questions about artificial intelligence, human relationships, and what it means to love and care for others, as seen through the eyes of Klara, an 'Artificial Friend'.

There is also a film version coming out in October, so now is the perfect time to get reading (or watching)!

Reviews

"Ishiguro has written another masterpiece, a work that makes us feel afresh the beauty and fragility of our humanity." - The Guardian

"a fable about robot love and loneliness" - The Standard
