Wed 8 Nov 2023 7:30 PM - 11:45 PM
The Voodoo Rooms, EH2 2AA
Description
DataFest 2023 will come to a dramatic crescendo at the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh - which side will you be on?
Featuring the dystopian rap stylings of Texture, the post-digital hyperpop of KLEO, and more to be announced - Which Side Will You Be On will give you a glimpse into the future of music and paint a picture of the direction our AI and data-powered society is heading in.
Tickets are limited and will be issued on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Texture
Texture is a rapper and performer from the darkest timeline. He weaves complex tapestries of myths, memes and dystopia with prescient, multi-layered rhymes. His recent release OLD BOY, laced with dark pop hooks, saw him collaborate with emerging producers eyesluvsu and Supermann On Da Beat.
KLEO
KLEO is an internet artist with a physical base in Glasgow, Scotland. Her music splits the difference between Hyperpop and Darkpop, drawing on influence from industrial, K-pop, house and trap, she has crafted her very own brand of post-internet pop.
KLEO’s work centers around the metaverse she has created for herself and her music. Calling herself a ‘half android, half human’, KLEO’s music is a social commentary on the post-digital age we live in, consumerism, capitalism and the commodification of human life. Her work explores the boundary between the consumer and the product and how the two are becoming increasingly indistinguishable.
