Experience the Joy of West African Drumming
Dave Kobrenski and friends are proud to present a new series of in-person courses, aimed to help make YOU proficient in the ancient art of West African drumming.
Drawing from the traditions of the Malinké people of Guinea, these courses will focus on traditional rhythms and playing styles, as Dave learned them during nearly two decades of travel in Guinea, West Africa.

About the Instructor
Dave Kobrenski is a musician, artist and author of three books, including his most recent book, a narrative memoir titled Finding the Source.
Since 2001, Dave has traveled extensively in West Africa to study traditional music with master musicians, including Famoudou Konaté, Sayon Camara, Nansady Keita, and more. His apprenticeship with Lanciné Condé, a master of the Malinké flute tradition, lasted for fifteen years until Lanciné’s untimely death in 2021. Dave is dedicated to promoting and teaching what he learned from these masters, in a spirit of respect and gratitude to his generous teachers and the rich cultural traditions they represent.
