Intimacy coordination for film and TV workshop

This intensive two-day workshop offers a practical and industry-focused introduction to intimacy coordination for film and television. It is designed for Directors, Producers, Intimacy Coordinators and Movement Coordinators who want a clear understanding of best practice when working with intimate content on set.

Across the two days, you will explore the role of the intimacy coordinator, how the work integrates into production and how to manage intimate scenes with professionalism, clarity and care. 

What the workshop covers

Day 1: Foundations and case studies

• The role and responsibilities of an intimacy coordinator
• Creating safe and respectful working environments for actors
• Consent-led communication and trust-building
• Pre-production planning including script analysis and rehearsals
• Legal, ethical and risk considerations

The afternoon focuses on detailed case studies drawn from real productions, including Sex Education, Industry and 3 Body Problem. These sessions will look at how intimate scenes were planned, communicated and executed, with discussions around challenges, solutions and outcomes.

Day 2: Practical application

On day 2, you will be given the chance to observe and engage in live intimacy coordination practice with two professional actors, offering direct insight into the on-set process.

• Choreographing intimate scenes with physical, emotional and psychological awareness
• Live demonstrations of process and on-set practice 
• Guided practical exercises developing intimacy coordination plans
• Group feedback, discussion and problem-solving

The workshop concludes with strategies for applying these practices to future projects, helping you move forward with confidence.
