Week 8 - Pomelo (Intro to Engineering), for kids entering grade 6-8
Mon Aug 4, 2025 9:00 AM - Fri Aug 8, 2025 3:00 PM
Elementary school TBD, 95616
Description
NEW! The Intro to Engineering camp introduces students entering grades 6-8 to practical skills in technology and engineering. Campers will learn the basics of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and 3D printing, as well as how to fly and work with drones. It’s a straightforward introduction to useful tools and techniques for students interested in exploring technology. No prior experience is needed, however we do encourage that students bring their own computers (if they have them) to camp every day.
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION:
A limited number of scholarships are available based on need.
If
you purchase a DYR RoboCamp registration with need-based scholarship,
we'll email you to ask how you qualify. You may be asked to show that
you receive, or qualify for, one or more of the following or other
need-based financial assistance programs:
CalFresh SNAP
CalWorks
County General Assistance
Medi-Cal
PG&E CARE
Refugee Cash Assistance
Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
When registering, choose the "Full Scholarship" ticket type instead of the "Registration" ticket type. Within 3 days after you register, we will send you an email with a link to a short Google Form asking about your participation in the above programs. You will have 5 calendar days to respond to the email, after which we will notify you whether you qualify and have been selected for a need-based scholarship.
If we do not receive your form within 5 days, or if it is determined that none of the eligibility criteria are met, you will be offered the choice of retracting the application or paying full price for the camp (if the camp is full, you can be added to the waitlist). If we do not receive payment by the date specified, your ticket will be relinquished and the next person on the waitlist will be given that spot.
