Description
‘Getting to know your Bassoon' is a course designed to give you an insight into the technical world of your instrument. The course will re-introduce you to your Bassoon and teach you how to diagnose the instrument, recognise faults and do simple non-invasive emergency repairs on the go.
The course is held on site at our specialist Woodwind and Brass Warehouse in Maidenhead, where Dawkes Music has supplied instruments, repair supplies and tools to musicians and technicians around the world for over 50 years.
Who Is the Course Suitable For?
This course on Sunday 27th of October is suitable for any player of intermediate level or above, adult learners, teachers, students and anyone wanting to gain more knowledge on how the Bassoon works. We will explore what commonly goes wrong, how to diagnose the Bassoon and how to tackle the problems that may arise.
We will cover history, sound production and basic acoustics, explore each part of the Bassoon and how they behave. The course has limited spaces to ensure we give you tailored advice and support. You will learn to recognise a wealth of problems, as well as diagnosing your own instrument.
"Well presented, with a good balance between info and practical. I would definitely say I felt more knowledgeable and confident due to the course." - Customer Feedback
What Does it Involve?
The course is interactive, practical and will leave you feeling confident in the functionality of each part of the Bassoon as well as providing the tools to diagnose your instrument when something seems amiss. You will receive a goodie-bag with accessories, repair materials and a guide for later use when diagnosing on the go.
Please note the course will not teach servicing or professional repair of Bassoons, but is a players guide to the inner workings of musical instruments. There are limited spaces available as we like to keep the groups small (max 8).
