About: The Ridout Brothers Quartet
Brothers Tom and Lester Ridout are members of a very talented musical family that includes not only themselves but also sister Alexandra Ridout (trumpet) and dad Mark Ridout (guitar).
Tom and Lester have played together every Monday for the last 18 months as members of Tom’s resident quartet at ‘sYp’ in the City of London which has enabled them to explore their deep love of the jazz tradition, particularly in hard bop and contemporary jazz.
They will share this with you alongside celebrated bassist Arnie Somogyi and hard swinging young pianist Harry Ashworth.
Tom Ridout is a multi award winning Jazz Saxophonist and Recorder player based in London. A graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy of Music, Tom is a prolific composer who fronts numerous compelling yet contrasting bands playing his original compositions.
Lester Ridout is a busy young London based drummer who is studying at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. An already in demand musician he has been cutting his teeth in many London jazz venues such as The Vortex and The Green Note.
