Our new series of live gigs at Dawkes are designed to let you enjoy leading UK musicians in a comfortable and enjoyable environment. Born out of the acclaimed Andy Mears Octet, this newly reimagined ensemble brings together some of the most in-demand jazz musicians in the UK under the banner of Andy Mears and the Dawkes All Stars. Delicious food will also be available to purchase as we are visited by local street food vendor, Dad Is Cooking, filled with Hong Kong flavours.

About: Andy Mears and the Dawkes All Stars

Originally conceived to channel the energy and sophistication of a full big band within a more intimate octet setting, the group has evolved into a powerhouse ensemble in its own right. With five horns out front and a swinging rhythm section behind them, the Dawkes All Stars deliver a rich, vibrant sound that bridges the golden age of jazz with the creativity of the modern scene.

Drawing from a vast library of meticulously arranged jazz and big band classics – along with standout original material – the band's performances are steeped in the traditions of Ellington, Basie, Gil Evans, and more, yet sparkle with the fresh perspectives of today's top players. Expect fiery solos, tight ensemble work, and an infectious sense of joy and groove that defines the very best of live jazz.

This is more than just a band; it's a celebration of jazz excellence and musical camaraderie.

Seat Allocations

Each ticket holder will be allocated a seat, so please book groups under one booking so that you can be seated together.

Refunds

All sales are non-refundable. If the event is rescheduled, all purchases will be honoured for the next event date. If you cannot attend the event, you may transfer your purchase to another person. If the event is cancelled, all purchases will be refunded in full.

Getting Here & Parking Info

We have 30 free parking spaces, including two spaces at the front of the building for Blue Badge holders and two electric charging points. Extra on-street parking is available after 6pm and on Sundays.

Trains run regularly to Maidenhead from Reading and London Paddington. We are a five-minute taxi ride/twenty-minute walk from the station.
