Introducing Quintessential Brass - A Family Concert
Share this event
We're joined by the excellent Quintessential Brass onto the Dawkes stage as part of our series presented by Concertini! Quintessential Brass believe that Brass Quintets are best placed to bring the widest possible range of musical styles to many different audience types. (They are biased of course!) They are very much at home in front of a wide variety of audiences, whether in the Concert Hall with discerning listeners, or very young children who want to follow them while they march around and make plenty of noise with percussion instruments.
With today’s programme, they hope to entertain and have you all actively involved. With Peppa Pig, Baby Shark and a whole lot of Disney - there's something for everyone!

With two sessions to choose from - 11:30am and 2:00pm - this is the perfect family concert for all ages. Don't rush off after the session! Berkshire Music Trust will be on hand with brass instruments to try, and happy to chat about taking the next step into music lessons. Grab your tickets and join us for a show the whole family will love!
About Quintessential Brass:
Quintessential Brass formed through lockdown, largely due to one of the member’s obsession with arranging music for Brass Ensemble during this time. Rehearsals began in a back garden with very tolerant neighbours! The Quintet is busy performing in Churches and other concert venues alongside their varied orchestral and band commitments. They have undertaken two tours of The Loire Valley in France, taking their English sense of humour and varied programme to Churches, City Centres and most memorably a number of Vineyards!

More About Concertini
Concertini was formed in May 2015 by musician, teacher and mum of two, Julia Bentley Dawkes. Concerts take place in venues and schools throughout the Thames Valley, each concert lasts under an hour and is followed by the chance to meet the musicians and their instruments, and even have a go!
“The purpose of each Concertini is to introduce children and their families to different styles of live music and musical instruments, to prepare them for the enjoyment of future live music events, to nurture a love of music and to provide an opportunity for families to listen to live music in a relaxed community setting.”
