Andy Mears Orchestra - Open Rehearsal

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a big band rehearsal? The Andy Mears Orchestra is throwing open the doors and inviting you to pull up a chair, grab a drink, and experience the magic of music-making in its raw, unpolished form.

This is not a gig — it’s a working rehearsal. You’ll hear a 16–17 piece big band bringing charts to life, stopping and starting, polishing tricky passages, and sharing those spontaneous, unrepeatable moments that only happen when great musicians get together.

Bandleader Andy Mears will offer the occasional insight into the process, but mostly you’ll just soak up the energy and musicianship as it happens.

Inspired by the legendary Monday night sessions at New York’s Village Vanguard, these evenings are about the love of the music — and who knows? With time, we might just build our own local tradition.

Come for the music, stay for the atmosphere — and become part of a new local jazz story from the very beginning.

Getting Here & Parking Info

We have 30 free parking spaces, including two spaces at the front of the building for Blue Badge holders and two electric charging points. Extra on-street parking is available after 6pm and on Sundays.

Trains run regularly to Maidenhead from Reading and London Paddington. We are a five-minute taxi ride/twenty-minute walk from the station.
