Keith Fairbairn’s “Groove Collective”

Thu 14 May 2026 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM BST Dawkes Music, SL6 8BT

Joining us on the Dawkes stage, is the great "Groove Collective" - a jazz-funk and Latin fusion ensemble led by Percussionist Keith Fairbairn. The project brings together an established pool of professional musicians drawn from the UK and European jazz, session and fusion scenes.

The band's music is rhythm-led and melodically focused, combining elements of jazz, funk, Afro-Latin, and contemporary fusion. The lineup features Tenor saxophonist Vasilis Xenopoulos, plus the usual rhythm section of Laurence Cottle on Electric Bass and Tim Goodyer on drum kit plus the brilliant Carl Hudson on keyboards and equally great Chris Allard on Guitar.

They play music by amongst other Herbie Hancock, The Headhunters, Ronnie Laws, Poncho Sanchez, Kenny Garrett, Grover Washington Jr., George Duke and The Crusaders plus some originals.
