This FREE Clarinet event is co-hosted by Dawkes Music & Backun Clarinets and features leading professional Clarinet player Peter Cigleris. Places are limited so please pre-book your place(s) in advance. Please Note: This event is taking place in-store in Berkshire, UK - it is not a streamed event. Please only book a place if you are able to attend the Dawkes Music store in Maidenhead.
Who Is This Event Suitable For?
Clarinet players of all levels will take something from the event. Be it playing tips & technique advice from Peter during the masterclass and/or inspiration from the recital. If you are a Teacher or Parent then you're welcome to come along with your student(s) or child who plays Clarinet.
Masterclass & Recital
This event features a Clarinet Masterclass where Peter will discuss and demonstrate tips & techniques for clarinet playing. He will cover topics such as: Practice Techniques / Tone Production / Finger Exercises / Choosing Your Equipment.
Peter will then perform a 45-50 minute Clarinet recital with his pianist Dina Duisen. There will also be chance to explore & discover the Backun range of Clarinets.

About Peter Cigleris (Clarinet)
Clarinettist Peter Cigleris is in demand as a soloist and chamber musician. He has appeared on BBC Radio Three’s ‘In Tune’ programme talking with Sean Rafferty and playing live with the Tippett Quartet. He has also performed live for the BBC in the Radio Three lunchtime recital. Peter has worked with Martin Cousin, Mark Bebbington, Julian Lloyd Webber performing for various music clubs and festivals around the UK including, the Windsor and Wooburn Festival, English Music Festival, Carlisle International Music Festival and the ICA ‘ClarinetFest’.
Internationally Peter has performed at the Groba Festival in Spain, recitals in France, Netherlands and the US. Concerto appearances include Belgium for the ICA ‘ClarinetFest’, Italy, Romania, Hungary and Mexico. Peter’s interest in English repertoire has seen him premier concertos and chamber music by Gipps, Benjamin, Wishart, Spain-Dunk as well as contemporaries such as Lloyd Moore and Peter Seabourne.

About Dina Duisen (Piano)
Kazakh-British pianist Dina Duisen was born into a family of musicians in Kazakhstan. She studied there and in the USA before completing a Master of Arts Degree in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music and graduating with distinction. Dina took part in Rome Music Festival, Oxford International Piano Festival, Sergei Babayan’s International Piano Academy at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Vibrate Festival and George Enescu Festival.
She has been the resident class pianist at IMS Prussia Cove and Casalmaggiore International Music Festival, currently working at the Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music. Dina has performed at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham, Milton Court, Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall and Cadogan Hall. She regularly works with violinist Nicola Benedetti.
Her debut album Mazurkas from Chopin to Adès was recorded with the Grammy-award winning producer Andrew Keener.
