Sat 18 Oct 2025 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Daws Hall Nature Reserve, co85ex
Description
The fungi kingdom stands apart from animals and plants, but has close and fascinating relationships with both. It is estimated that there are more than 3 million species of fungi, but only a few hundred thousand are known and described in any detail.
An introduction to common fungi, how to identify them and where to find them.
A walk around our reserve with eyes peeled to spot and identify as many different fungi as we can.
Been before? This session repeats yearly, but we are trying to change the time of year so that we find different species each time.
What to bring
- This session is outdoors, so please bring weather appropriate clothing (no heels!).
- Fungi identification guides will be available, but if you have your own please feel free to bring it to help get acquainted with it.
