DC Movie Club 3-Year Anniversary Party

We've got TONS to celebrate, so please join us on Friday, October 16 to celebrate three amazing years of DC Movie Club, the community we've built, all the movies we've seen, and of course all the friendships we've made along the way.

Attire:
Due to the proximity of Halloween, costumes are encouraged! More specifically, costumes inspired by movies we've seen as a club together in the last three years. There will be PRIZES for best costumes, so start thinking!

FAQ

Q: What does my ticket cover?
A: Your ticket helps cover the costs of putting on this event, as well as other supplies needed to run DC Movie Club throughout the year. DC Movie Club is entirely volunteer run and events like these help keep the lights on. In addition to supporting the club, your ticket gets you access to the limited capacity party, drink specials, access to a photo booth, opportunities to win amazing prizes, activities/games, and of course friendship.

Q: Can I come even if I haven’t been to an event yet?
A: Absolutely. DCMC is, and always will be, an inclusive space. There will be various (low-effort) games and conversation starters to break the ice. Think of this as a big happy hour where you don't have to wake up for work the next day.

Q: Will there be food?
A: Hook Hall has an extensive food and drink menu, so come hungry/thirsty! Due to the Halloween connection, there also may or may not be candy!

Q: Help! I need more info about the costume portion.
A: This is the closest we'll get to a Halloween party for DC Movie Club, so even though it's a couple weeks early, who doesn't love an excuse to cosplay as their favorite movie character? I'll update the page in the coming weeks with a Letterboxd list of all the movies we've screened -- if it helps, genre circle showings also count! No pressure, the goal is to just have fun.

That being said, please keep your costume appropriate -- no weapons or anything that might be construed as a weapon.
