WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE RANCH:
- Please arrive at least 15-20 minutes before your scheduled start time:
- You will need time to unload from your transportion, walk up the dirt road to the barn, check in at the front counter with your QR code tickets, get your stickers, put the stickers on your kiddos and use the potties if needed, as well as have time to get lined up.
- We strive to begin our fieldtrips at the time they are scheduled. If you arrive late, please be prepared to catch your group in their rotation through the ranch. We will do our best to get you plugged in with your group, however please understand that staff seldom have a chance to come to check in at the ticket counter to accomodate your schedule if you are running late.
- Check in:
- Please Check In at the front counter. Have your QR codes ready on your phone or printed out.
- Pick up your Group Stickers at time of check in. Line up in the que with your matching sticker Group Image, to the left of the barn.
- Group Stickers:
- We provide Group Stickers. Each group will be given stickers at time of check in (i.e. Cows, Sheep, Dog, Tractor, Rancher, Barnyard and Hogs). These stickers will be given to you at the time of check in. No need to print out your own.
PARKING:
It is a short walk from the Bus Parking-Loading area as well as the Car Parking Hay Field. Please plan to haul your items from your parking areas to the gathering area in front of the barn. It is rustic and we have dirt roads that can be wet or rutted during inclement weather. Groups have found that individual backpacks, collapsible wagons as well as rolling baskets have been very handy. We have wagons and wheel barrows available for you to transport items. However, for afternoon field trips during the Fall Pumpkin Patch Season, wagons and wheel barrows can sometimes be hard to come by.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
How many people can we book in a day? We have 4 (four) groups in the morning and 3 (three) groups in the afternoon. All groups accomodate 30 people. We can have 120 paying individuals in the morning and 90 in the afternoon.
How do I know what group I'm booking in? When you schedule your field trip on line, you are booking within groups that we have numbered 1-4 for the morning and 5-7 in the afternoon. Each group at the time of check in will be given their Group Image and entrance stickers (Cow, Dog, Sheep, Tractor, Barnyard, Rancher, etc.)
Will I be able to hang out with people in different groups, like if I signed up as a Cow, will we be with the Sheep? No.Each group is it's own unit that will rotate, on it's own, through all 4 (four) stations of the fieldtrip.
Why can't groups be bigger than 30 people?
The hayride can seat 30 people. How many pepole the hayride can hold is what drives the size of our groups. Please don't switch groups. It creates havock and overload on the hayride and we will not be able to accomodate your groups need to reorganize at the time of your event.
We will not reorganize groups the day of the event. Please plan accordingly at the time of booking for the number of people attending your event
Why can't I purchase any more tickets in the group I am trying to book in?
Each Group has a maximum registration of 30 paying guests. If you can not purchase any more tickets in a group, that is because it has reached the maximum number of 30 tickets avaiilable within that group. The ticketing system has been programmed to allow only 30 paying tickets to be sold. No additional tickets will be generated once the 30 maximum guests per group has been reached. If the system won't let you buy the number of tickets you are entering, check to see if it has maxed out and is "closed".
We have a guest with special needs. What are the conditions like on the ranch? What accomodations does the ranch have?
We are a very rustic setting, here at the ranch. Our roads are dirt or bark chip. We have a large, flat, mowed green grass area in the center of the stations. The road that approaches the ranch's barn wraps around to the back of the puplic area.
Vehicles are more than welcome to drive up past the barn and thick bark chip landing area at the barn and unload guests that have mobility issues, onto the harder packed dirt and grass area. We have parking up near the barn for guests that would appreciate a shorter walk, but keep in mind that it is still on the thick bark chip landing. If parking up past the barn on the harder packed dirt would be best, please let us know. We're happy to help you get your vehicle to a place that is more conducive to your needs. Our barn has a private room for guests that require privacy, assistance and more space.
There are picnic benches & patio chairs.
The hay wagon has a steep'ish metal 5-steps stair that leads into the wagon. Our grounds has loads of space and places that you are welcome to explore if you are wanting to have some time to yourself or to find a place with less stimulation.
Please don't hesitate to ask about our ranch and our program so we can help to ensure everyone has a great visit.
Special Accomodations:
In past years, we've been able to work individually with organizations to coordinate bookings with similar age groups and abilities. DD Ranch recognizes that this scheduling app does not allow for that type of fine tuning in its booking ability. If you are needing assistance with fine tuning your visit, please contact Julie Larson, Education Coordinator at Julie@ddranch.net and we will do our best to find a time slot similar to the one you are hoping to book.
**Due to rising costs of inflation, DD Ranch is in a position that we must raise our prices in order to continue to provide services and products to our customers. Thank you for understanding
