Tour:
Our Field Trips are designed to get kids moving and learning with their whole body. With 4 interactive stations making up our field trip, your visit will get you experiencing a working ranch and learning about various aspects of our great outdoors. From touching various animals on the ranch to feeding the cattle, to learning the "why" behind some animal and plant behaviors, as well as providing a play area complete with a giant gunny sack slide. We strive to offer an experience that leaves our guests enriched, intrigued and hopefully revived from some quality time in the great Central Oregon outdoors.
What's The Buzz About Bees? Includes:
- A hayride out to our fields to feed the cattle and learn a bit about cattle ranching at DD Ranch.
- Play time in the Kids Korral and visit time with our Petting Zoo Animals. A giant gunny sack slide, swings, elevated fort and plenty of space for running and exploring are combined with a visit to the petting zoo. We have goats, sheep, dairy calves, pot belly pigs and loads of peacocks!
- An educational station where we discover some of the mysteries behind bees and their habits.
- A chance to plant a small cup-sized wildflower garden, to take home and observe the changes from seed to flower.
At the end of our visit, students can take home a honey straw along with their wee wildflower garden in a cup.

- As a non-ticket holder, you are welcome to come enjoy the ranch with your group and particiapte in the three non-hayride stations included in the field trip, even if the number of your group has reached its maximum for paying visitors.
- The hayride can accommodate 30 bodies. It is this limitation of seats on the hay ride that drives the size of our paid ticket holding guest registration.

TICKETS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE BETWEEN GROUPS. Please put the appropriate number of children and adults in the right groups AT THE TIME OF BOOKING.
- The hayride can seat 30 people. Please don't switch groups. It creates havock and overload on the hayride.

We offer a Pay-At-Time of Booking option. We do not offer a "Pay at Time of Visit" option. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY:
For tickets cancelled prior to 72 hours of your event we will refund 50% of your payment in the form of a voucher good towards the purchase of future trips or ranch products, such as meat and honey.
Payments are non refundable within 72 hours of your event.
Ticket fees are non refundable.
It will be your responsibility to contact Julie Larson at julie@ddranch to inform her of your cancellations needs. In your email, please include your name, organization and date of visit.
NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK:
- Each group has a maximum registration of 30 paying guests. If you are not able to enter the number of tickets you require, it is because that group has reached the maximum number of 30 tickets avaiilable within that group. The program is designed in such a way so as to limit the number of tickets sold per group to 30. No additional tickets will be generated once the 30 tickets maximum, per group, has been reached.
- The names of each group are identified as an animal, (with corresponding images on stickers provided at your arrival). These identifying names provid some organization and direction to the staff as well as visitors. Each group is it's own little bubble. The names of groups let us all know where groups need to go in the rotation, who is in each group, and in the event that someone gets confussed and misplaced, we can then identify the guests' "flock" and get them back to where they need to be.
- If you have fewer than 10 paying guests in your group, please sign up in a session that already has visitors attending. It is not financially sustainable for DD Ranch to operate a field trip with fewer than 10 children. DD Ranch reserves the right to contact you and reschedule your visit to a date that is already established with a field trip. However, we can not guarantee that we will always be able to accommodate your group when needing to reschedule, due to days and time slots getting sold out.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE RANCH:
1. Please arrive at least 15-20 minutes BEFORE your scheduled start time:
- You will need time to unload from your transportion, walk up the dirt road to the barn, check in at the front counter with your QR code tickets, get your stickers, put the stickers on your kiddos and use the potties if needed, as well as have time to get lined up.
- We begin our fieldtrips at the time they are scheduled. If you arrive late, please be prepared to catch your group in their rotation through the ranch. We will do our best to get you plugged in with your group, however please understand that staff seldom have a chance to come to check in at the ticket counter to accomodate varying arrivals.
2. Check in at front counter:
- If you have multiple bookings for one registration, i.e. public school, one adult can check everyone in. Please have your QR codes ready on your phone or printed off and we will scan them when you check in.
- If you are an individual group within a larger group, i.e. Homeschool, please check your individuals in. Please have your QR codes ready on your phone or printed off and we will scan them when you check in.
- Each group will be given stickers with their group image on it at the time of Check-In. (i.e. Cows, Sheep, Dog, Tractor, Rancher, Barnyard and Hogs).
3. Line up in Front of your Group Image:
- Once you've checked in, you will be given a sticker with your group imageon it. Field Trips gather on the bark chip landing near the barn, in front of their posted groups' image.
*Lunch/Snack break time is not included within this time block. Please plan on lunch before or after your guided field trip. You are always welcome to be bring snacks along in pockets or packs go eat during the field trip.
*Please Bring Water Bottles and Snacks/Food. We typically do not have snacks or food for sale.
Bus and Car Parking:
It is a short walk from the Bus Parking-Loading area as well as Auto Parking Field. Please plan to haul your items from your parking area to the gathering area in front of the barn. It is rustic and we have dirt roads that can be wet or rutted during inclement weather. Groups have found that individual backpacks, collapsible wagons as well as rolling baskets have been very handy. We have Red Wagon type wagons and wheel barrows available for you to transport items. However, for afternoon field trips during the Fall Pumpkin Patch Season, wagons and wheel barrows can sometimes be hard to come by.
Special Accommodations with Booking Your Visit
In past years, we've been able to work individually with organizations to coordinate bookings with similar age groups. DD Ranch recognizes that this scheduling app does not allow for that type of fine tuning in its booking ability. We also recognize that preschoolers in the kids korral with 5th graders can be a recipe for disaster. Please contact Julie Larson, Education Coordinator, and we can do our best to find a time slot and age group similar to the one you are hoping to book.
**Due to rising costs and inflation, DD Ranch is in a position that it must raise its prices in order to continue to provide services and products to our customers. Thank you for understanding
