Dead Northern & Independent Horror Society Present - Dead Indie - Midsummer nights scream

The Independent Horror Society has teamed up with the Dead Northern film festival for a killer night of indie horror in York. This is DEAD INDIE.

First up on the agenda we'll be showcasing an extended selection of short films that have been pulled from the IHS’s wildly popular Indie Film Showcase 2024 lineup, which has already captivated audiences in London and Manchester.

After a short interval, we will then be screening Chris Cronin’s incredible feature THE MOOR, which has wowed festival audiences worldwide since its debut at Frightfest in August. This is one of the final opportunities to experience its haunting beauty in cinemas, so don't miss the chance to see one the best UK horror films of the past few years on the big screen.

Director Chris Cronin will also be attending to have an intimate Q&A with horror fans after the screening, after which we'll descend into the City Screen bar to hang out with fellow horror fans.

Whatever your horror niche, there will be something there for you – from gore-spreading demented wildlife and rampaging colleagues, all the way through to possessed household furniture and haunted genitalia. What more do you need?

*Concessions tickets are for full-time students, persons aged over 60, and CEA card holders. Discounted tickets will require the pass holder to carry valid student ID/Identification/CEA card on their persons for the duration of the event, to be checked by staff and volunteers.
CEA card holders can opt for an additional entry ticket on the door for any additional valid persons attending the event with them.
