This July, Nasty Video Club sinks its teeth into two of the most distinctive vampire films ever committed to celluloid.

Join us at Micklegate Social for an unforgettable evening celebrating two cult classics that couldn't be more different. One is a haunting, dreamlike descent into supernatural evil. The other is a gritty, blood-soaked road movie that redefined the modern vampire film. Together, they make for a perfect double bill exploring two radically different visions of horror's most enduring monster.

The Keep (1983) - 6.30pm

When German soldiers occupying a remote Romanian fortress awaken an ancient supernatural evil, only a mysterious immortal may be able to stop it. Michael Mann's visually stunning and dreamlike cult horror combines wartime thriller, dark fantasy and cosmic terror into one of the most fascinating and enigmatic films of the 1980s.

Near Dark (1987) - 8.30pm

A lonely drifter's life is turned upside down after a chance encounter with a mysterious young woman draws him into a ruthless gang of modern-day vampires roaming the American Midwest. Blending Western grit with vampire horror, Kathryn Bigelow's cult classic is a blood-soaked, genre-defying masterpiece that remains as thrilling today as it was on release.

*Tickets are non refundable. Concessions tickets are for full-time students, persons aged over 60, and CEA card holders. Discounted tickets will require the pass holder to carry valid student ID/Identification/CEA card on their persons for the duration of the event, to be checked by staff and volunteers. CEA card holders can opt for an additional entry ticket on the door for any additional valid persons attending the event with them.
