Death Church: Ceremonial Guidance Through Death Contemplation
Share this event
This month we welcome Death Doula Bre Clark as our host. Step into a sacred space where the veil between life and death thins—a place of reflection, reverence, and deep contemplation. Death Church is an immersive ceremony designed for those who wish to explore mortality as a natural and sacred part of life.
In a dimly lit, meditative setting, we gather to honor impermanence, to reflect on our own mortality, and to symbolically cross the threshold between life and death. Through breath, ritual, guided meditation, and communal sharing, we invite you into a profound experience of letting go.
This ceremony is both a personal and collective journey. You will be invited to:
✨ Lay down in stillness—anticipate long periods of resting on your mat.
✨ Contribute to a community altar with an object that represents your personal relationship with death
✨ Engage in guided breathwork, using the breath as a bridge between life and death
✨ Journey through a guided death meditation, surrendering to the liminality of passing.
✨ Be anointed and then gently covered, feeling the symbolic weight of a funeral shroud
✨ Return gently to the world of the living, integrating insights from the experience.
✨ Gather for a communal potluck, honoring the tradition of funeral food and comfort offerings.
This is not just a passive event; it is an invitation to engage every part of yourself. You will engage all five senses and tap into your intuition, as each moment in the ceremony is crafted to open new depths of reflection, connection, and transformation."
The atmosphere is intentionally crafted to hold you: flickering candlelight, the scent of sacred incense, the resonance of live and recorded music, the rhythm of guided breathwork, and the gentle presence of a community moving through this together.
This experience is guided with deep respect for consent and every aspect is an invitation. A quiet retreat area will be available if you need space to reflect and ground yourself.
