Menopause - The Making of Feminine Majesty

Reframe, resource and reclaim your menopause journey

There is a quiet revolution happening among women in midlife – and its beginning with how we speak about menopause.

Whilst there is much to be grateful for in the growing awareness and acceptance of the challenges of menopause there is also a deeper, more nuanced narrative waiting to be shared more widely.

A narrative that:

  • speaks to the psychological, spiritual and systemic undercurrents unfolding within us during this time
  • helps us make sense of this turbulent and reformative time
  • restores the story of menopause to us, as women, as a rightful and natural life transition
  • if understood and supported well, can guide and resource us through out this transformative time
  • speaks to the deep truth of this life stage, where wisdom, clarity and a renewed sense of purpose and wholeness can emerge.

Menopause is an ancient archetypal phase in our womanly lives, and we know that this time

  • is not about fixing ourselves.
  • is not about staying young, thin, or endlessly “productive”
  • is not about over stretching and depleting ourselves anymore

It is about coming into a more expanded, confident and easeful evolution of ourselves.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is most beneficial for women in their 40’s and beyond, but is not age specific. You may feel you are entering perimenopause and would like to be more readied for the menopausal journey ahead. You may be deep in the menopause transition and feeling tumbled, lost and overwhelmed by life and the immense squeeze of the changes going on within you, the demands in life around you, and your deep desire to retreat. Or you may be post-menopausal, through the main currents of it all but feeling somehow unfinished or incomplete and needing time to reflect and integrate. You may not know where you are and just be seeking the company of other women.

What you will receive

If you are interested in a deeper more nuanced narrative on menopause this retreat will offer you a welcoming group of midlife women, where you will begin to:

  • See beyond the medical model to the full archetypal and psychological journey of menopause
  • Understand the stages of menopause and what each asks of you
  • Identify skills and practices that can support you on this natural journey
  • Share experience, community, connection and conversation
  • Deepen your sense of self and groundedness in your life and leadership today
  • Gain insight and resourcing that supports your onward journey

Workshop approach

In the beautiful, tranquil environments of Calcot Manor & Spa, you will feel deeply taken care of in this spacious, nurturing day. Together we’ll create a calm, respectful and trustworthy space where you can come back in step with yourself.

Drawing on the spirit and crafts of the Muses - the nine sister goddesses in Greek mythology presiding over song, poetry, the arts and sciences – we’ll work with images, poetry, story and embodied practice to help you connect with your own menopause muse: your inner source of wisdom and knowing as a woman walking an ancient feminine path.

Alongside informative input, and a framing of the stages of the menopause transition, there will be time for:

  • Guided meditation
  • Reflection and journaling
  • Being in nature
  • Simple expressive art
  • Embodied activities
  • Listening and sharing with others
  • Integration and sense making
  • Self-care

This is not a journey to take alone, that is the old story. With companionship, guidance, and a nourishing structure, you’ll find new strength and resource to meet your menopause crossing with grace and power, becoming more of yourself as you do.

Come away with

  • A changed perspective and narrative for this time in your life
  • A new map and understanding of the menopause passage
  • Clearer connection with your own menopause path, your place on that, and how to help yourself
  • A new relationship with your Menopause muse
  • Greater trust in your inner knowing and the need to listen to your intuition
  • Ideas, practical steps and practices to support your menopause passage
  • A feeling of togetherness and community with fellow travellers
