Dr Emile Badarin will speak on the long shadow of settler colonialism in Palestine. He will discuss his book and explain the role settler colonialism & recognition politics have played in the genocide of the Palestinian people. We will further the discussion with Palestinian researcher Samer Jaber and Dr Nehad Khanfar, Chairman of APCUK.
Dr Emile Badarin is a Palestinian researcher & author based in Oxford. His research focuses on the question of Palestine, colonialism & recognition politics. He is the author of 'Recognition Politics in Settler Colonial States: Normalizing Disposession & Elimination in Palestine.
Dr Nehad Khanfar is the Chairman of APCUK (Association of the Palestinian Community in the UK) and a lecturer in Law, Politics & Human Rights. His research concerns international arbitration & the civil liability of the Israeli occupation for environmental damage in Palestine. In addition, he is the author of two novels on British Colonialism in Palestine.
Samer Jaber is a Palestinian researcher and activist whose research focuses on the Political Economy of Capitalism. He has played an active role in the BDS movement in Palestine and the wider Palestinian struggle since the first Intifada and writes regularly for Al Jazeera.
