An opportunity to take a conducted tour to discover the story behind the Kindling Farm.

Established in 2007 the Kindling Trust has been at the forefront of work to use food as a catalyst for environmental and social change.  They have recently taken the activity up a level by buying a farm.

Barn Hey Farm is a traditional family farm, with a really special feel to it. It has a modest farmhouse, barns and stables set around a courtyard that lends itself well to becoming the hub of the Kindling Farm. It has 31 hectares (77 acres) of productive land, with a flat aspect that is ideal for vegetable and arable production as well as the opportunity to plant significant numbers of fruit trees.

Parking is very limited (to 5 cars) so please share cars where possible.

Contribution: The team are very kindly offering this tour for free. Similar tours cost around £25.  But your very welcome to buy some of their veg!

Visiting Kindling Farm: a few things you need to know:

What to Wear
Even on a sunny day, the farm can feel cold so we suggest wearing a few layers to keep warm.
As a working farm, there are lots of uneven ground so please wear flat, study footwear - walking boots or old trainers are ideal.

Dogs: We kindly ask that you do not bring your dog with you to avoid disturbing wildlife at the farm.

Facilities
Please note, the farm is about to undergo refurbishment. We have limited facilities including one indoor toilet which is up a set of stairs.
We don't have a cafe onsite but refreshments will be available.
Unfortunately the farm is not wheelchair accessible at the moment; the ground is uneven in many parts and can be tricky for those with limited mobility. If you have any questions about access, please contact Clare at people@kindling.org.uk
