River Story: A Journey in the Making

New songs, old favourites and a journey in the making

Join the Deep Roots Tall Trees choir for an evening of new music and much-loved favourites, as we share the next stage of our River Story journey.

Inspired by Willow Brook and Harpers Brook, our new songs explore the waterways that connect Corby and its surrounding communities: their history and industrial legacy, their place in our landscape today, and the life that continues within and around them.

Created by composer, songwriter and musician Kate Stilitz with The Ring of Fire, our songwriting collective made up of our choir members, this developing music grows from time spent beside the brooks - watching, listening and finding inspiration in water, light, stillness and change.

Alongside these new songs, the choir will revisit old favourites written by The Ring of Fire and local musicians.

River Story invites us to deepen our connection with our local environment and consider the importance of waterways in a changing climate. Environmental responsibility is part of both what we explore and how we create and share the work.

This concert is a sharing along the way, rather than the journey’s end. The project continues into the new year, with more music and ideas still to develop.

Come and hear what is taking shape.
