Making Bird-Feeders out of Willow

We are pleased to bring willow-making back to Headington and invite you to join basket-maker and tutor Eleanor Morgan in weaving your very own willow bird-feeders.

All materials and tools are provided to enable you to weave different styles of bird feeders, perfect for holding fat balls and nuts and seeds. You’ll then have plenty of time to experiment and make yourself several feeders of your own. You will be taught traditional weaving techniques and supported to complete your own woven bird-feeder by the end of the session.

Ellie is an experienced workshop leader who creates a range of baskets using Somerset grown willow. She is a Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers, a member of the Basketry Association and also skilled in spoon-carving.
