Sell your Art Online - Getting Started

Sun 13 Jul 2025 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Hunsdon House Garden School, OX3 9BJ

We are excited to introduce a new short course to Deepwell Arts that will empower you to step into the world of online art sales. This course is right for you if you are looking to develop an online market for your artwork, whether you are an amateur artist, an art student or a professional artist.

Etain O'Carroll will lead you in this one-day interactive session to get you started on your way to selling your art through online mechanisms. This is a broad and evolving topic with many options and numerous platforms so we are going to strip this down to the bare bones of the process and get you started with some practical exercises and a wealth of guidance.

The day is made up of four parts:

  • Research - finding your place within the art marketplace (researching the market, your audience, your competitors, artist marketplaces - choosing a platform for selling)
  • Identity - telling your story to connect with your audience (creating a cohesive identity through your bio, statement, backstory and website/socials)
  • Branding – (make your work recognisable with a brand colour scheme, logo, and consistent use of design)
  • Selling - presenting and marketing your work (photographing your work, pricing your work, getting it online)

You will have plenty of opportunity to share experiences with others during the session, and to receive feedback on your ideas. We will also identify follow-on training and suggest ways forward with individualised support requests. You will leave the day quite a few steps nearer to your goal of selling your work online and have some tangible outcomes to build upon, including a refined artist statement and a much clearer idea of your next steps towards selling your work with confidence.

You are advised to attend the one-hour briefing and introduction to the course on 10th May at 4.30 pm (see the link on www.deepwellarts.com website).

There are a few places available at a lower rate; email fdeepwell@outlook.com to apply for a concessionary place.
