Sgraffito Tiles - A hands-on workshop by Deepwell Arts

In this 1-hour hands-on workshop you will experience the ancient art of sgraffito to create your own designs on soft clay tiles which have been pre-prepared with a layer of colour. This is a highly absorbing activity, which will awaken your creativity. You will be provided with inspiration and guidance to help you to complete your own design.

You will carve away the layers of colour to reveal the contrasting layer of clay below. There is an option to add a further colour and imprints to the tile, using freestyle brushwork, stamps or botanical stencils. 

All materials are provided to create one tile. A second tile can be purchased on the day.

Your tiles will be glazed and fired and ready within a few weeks. They will be available to collect from the Deepwell Arts studio in Leicester City, or posted out to you securely wrapped for the cost of postage and packaging (approximately £7).

Suitable for beginners;

Child-friendly (over 11s) accompanied by adults;

Cost: £18 for one person/one tile; £30 for adult + child (plus small booking fee)
