Introduction to Oil Painting

The eight-week course is an introduction to oil painting led by artist teacher Helen Edwards. 

The course dates are all on Thursdays from 10am to 12.30pm on the following dates:

10th September;  24th September

1st October, 15th October

5th November, 19th November

3rd December, 17th December

The course gives you the opportunity to learn the basic rules and apply them with figurative painting and then break the rules with abstract painting. 

You will be shown how to develop your research methods, learn how to analyse artist works through the formal elements, - line, tone, texture, etc - understand composition, colour theory, techniques in layering/glazes, as well as some more experimental methods and techniques for abstract works.
