LOST MAP 10 - STROUD TAKEOVER

Delifinger, The Prince Albert and Lost Map Records present the Lost Map 10 - Stroud Takeover,  a celebration to mark the Hebridean record label's 10th birthday.

Starting in the afternoon at the Old Endowed School in Rodborough, then heading on up the hill to The Prince Albert (with time for a bite to eat) before the evening event gets underway. 

PART 1 - Molly Linen + Support (2.00pm - 5pm)

Part 1 of the event will be happening at The Old Endowed School, Rodborough and features Molly Linen as headliner with support from Delifinger and Tom Percival (Grasscourt)

Molly Linen is a Shropshire-born, Southwest-based songwriter and guitarist. Her beguiling voice is both emotive yet serene recalling the dulcet whispered tones of Cat Power, layered upon melodic guitar lines which draw influence from artists such as Vashti Bunyan and Nick Drake.

Support from Delifinger and Tom Percival. Delifinger (Matt) and Tom, used to release music on Lost Map Records together as Grasscourt, but have since both gone out in the world (of Stroud) as solo musicians, with each performing their own sets at this show.

PART 2 - Amy May Ellis / Firestations + Support (7pm - 10.30pm)

The Prince Albert will be hosting part 2 of the event, a double headliner featuring Lost Map acts, Amy May Ellis and Firestations, with support from Bit Cloudy.

Raised in a remote dale in the middle of the North York Moors, Amy May Ellis invites you on a journey through the history and mysticism of this wide-open landscape. Now based in Bristol, Amy’s warm and delicate folk-leaning songs are steeped in the culture, scenery, folklore and wildlife of the countryside that surrounded and shaped her as a child. Brought up singing around the house with her mother, Amy May Ellis was first inspired to start writing songs aged 15 on a ukulele bought for her by her grandad. She began making her mark as a musician through support slots for touring artists including Michael Chapman, Alessi’s Ark, Hiss Golden Messenger, Tiny Ruins, Ryley Walker and Willy Mason at her local music venue The Band Room in Farndale. Since 2018, with the support of a growing band of friends, collaborators and fans, Amy has released a series of four acclaimed EPs, each exploring an element. Inspired by centuries of human habitation on the ancient North York Moors, her debut album Over Ling and Bell was written in a secluded farmhouse there, mostly alone but sometimes with friends. Firestations are Michael Cranny, Laura Copsey, Martin Thompson, Tom Hargreaves and Neil Walsh. Together they make music spanning genres from shoegazey indie to synth pop and harmony-driven psychedelia. Their second album 'The Year Dot' was released in 2018 and was hailed by The List magazine for “pursuing ambitious social commentaries while playfully teasing its own sonic glitches”.
'Thick Terrain' is being released on limited-edition 12” vinyl and digital platforms, with accompanying zine, on July 14, 2023. A clear-eyed and bold statement, it deftly combines big ideas with pop sensibilities in a captivating way, making it the band’s most ambitious and accomplished work to date. It follows Firestations’ expansive and explorative 2021 EP trilogy 'Automatic Tendencies', which garnered extensive radio and press support, with Marc Riley (BBC 6 Music) hailing the track ‘Small Island’ as “a perfect pop song”.

Martin Thompson aka Bit Cloudy, is a leftfield electronic producer from East London, and guitarist in Firestations.
