Make your teaching materials work for everyone.
This practical, hands-on workshop introduces the Big 3 accessibility principles; images you can hear, colours everyone can see, and structure that makes sense. You’ll learn why accessibility is important and how inclusive design benefits all learners.
Through live demonstrations and guided activities, you’ll explore simple, built-in tools in Word, PowerPoint, and Brightspace to check and improve your resources. Bring one of your own teaching materials to remediate during the session.
Key takeaways:
You’ll come away with a solid understanding of why accessibility matters, not only for compliance, but also for supporting student success. You’ll be able to apply the Big 3 principles to your own resources, making them more inclusive and effective for all learners.
You will also learn how to use accessibility checkers in Microsoft 365 and LearningZone to identify and fix common issues. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with at least one improved resource and a clear action plan to continue enhancing your materials.
