An unguided tour through the house in daylight, without speaking, explored at your own pace. 18 Folgate Street is famous for the quality of its silence enlivened by ticking clocks, and crackling fires. When there is no chatter, you grow more aware of fragrances – perfume, wood smoke and oranges. Compounded by the intricate visual detail, this is an intense experience for all the senses.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

• Please arrive on time for your visit. We are unable to admit latecomers.
• Tickets are non-refundable and may not be exchanged or transferred.
• Walk up tickets are available subject to availability.
• All tours involve walking around the House and climbing stairs.
• Stiletto heels cannot be worn in the House.
• Only handbags and small backpacks are allowed in the House. You will be asked to carry small backpacks by hand or wear them on your front.
• Due to restrictions in space please note that we are not able to accommodate pushchairs.
• Due to the age and character of the building, the House has dim lighting, uneven floors, steep stairs and other hazards. You must follow safety instructions from the staff at all times.
• The 45 minute window is the duration of the session, not an arrival time. ie. if a tour is booked 12pm - 12:45pm the start time is 12pm.

ACCESSIBILITY

Due to the nature of the building, its Grade II listing and the different floor levels, there is no wheelchair access.
