'Setting up for success' is a series of professional learning webinars focusing on the graduate career stage of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST). 

The webinars have been designed for:

• Pre-service teachers completing professional experience placements in NSW public schools
• Conditional teachers in their final year of study
• Provisional teachers

The ‘Responding to challenging student behaviour’ webinar will focus on standards 4.4.1, 4.2.1, 4.3.1, 4.4.1, 4.5.1, 6.1.1, 6.2.1, 6.3.1, 6.4.1 and 7.4.1 of the APST.

The foci of learning in this webinar are as follows:

• understanding behaviour and its function
• responding to and encouraging expected behaviour
• strategies to respond effectively to inappropriate student behaviour
