Daydream Nation 2

We are back at The Rum Shack, Glasgow, with Daydream Nation 2!! The next edition in our series of screenings and events from dept.con.temp's community cinema project. 

Please join us at The Rum Shack on 15th July, 2024, for Daydream Nation 2, where we will be screening a new line-up of short animated films from local and international artists. We are also very excited to be hosting a special live performance from Andy Monaghan, with visuals from Jamie Temple, and tunes supplied through the evening from Practice Good Practice.

Come along, have a drink, listen to some music, watch some brilliant films and live performances, and pick up some merch!!

Daydream Nation is a celebration of short DIY filmmaking, which in many ways carries the qualities and ethos of grunge. If this kind of filmmaking was a music genre then we would call it “visual grunge” !

The line up of films is made up of people that we come to know and love, and will include new and old works. Artists TBA sooooon!!

Also coming up soon from the Daydream Nation programme we will be hosting regular events made up of intertwined meetings, screenings, music performances, talks, radio events and workshops taking place in-person around Glasgow and online. We are planning a follow-up workshop combining animation and printmaking too, taking place on July 25th at The Glad Cafe, Glasgow. Tickets are £5, but no one will be turned away from lack of funds. If you can, please consider making a donation. All profits will got towards future events and paying our artists.

We want our events to be open and welcoming to all, so please be considerate and mindful of those around you. Sadly access is non step free, but we will always do our best to make sure our events are as accessible as possible.
