Market Access Day

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment is delighted to invite you to attend Market Access Day 2025, in conjunction with the Market Access team in Brussels, on April 9th, 2025. The event will take place at the Clayton Hotel in Ballsbridge and will commence with registration and tea/coffee at 09:00. The event will be opened by journalist and broadcaster Sarah Carey who will be the MC for Market Access Day and Ronnie Downes (Assistant Secretary, Trade Division, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment) will give some introductory remarks.

The agenda will include topics such as: implementation and enforcement of EU trade policy and its benefits for Irish businesses; available tools for business looking to export outside the EU Single Market; EU trade policy instruments (Access to Markets and Single-Entry Point); trade barriers and solutions; trade policy in the changing geopolitics; EU Free Trade Agreements and their concrete benefits to companies; and Trade Defence Instruments.

The Market Access Day is aimed towards companies who may be first-time exporters, companies that may not have operated outside the EU market previously, or those who have encountered trade barriers. Join us and register now to attend this free event.

GETTING TO THE CLAYTON HOTEL, BALLSBRIDGE:

Car - Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge has ample parking located underground with over 200 parking spaces. Parking for hotel guests is available in the basement of the hotel where there is an overnight charge of €12 for our guests, or a reduced rate is available when you book direct. We also have a daily rate of €12 for all our conference delegates visiting the hotel.

Taxis are available from the airport, although availability may be limited during peak travel times.

Car Hire is available from Dublin Airport or from Dublin City Centre South. You can book your car rental online prior to arriving at Dublin Airport :

Bus - Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge is serviced by the number 7 and number 4 bus routes.

The Aircoach is a direct service between Ballsbridge, Grand Canal Dock and Dublin Airport. This service operates on an hourly basis, 24 hours per day.

Train - Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge is a five-minute walk from Sandymount station where you can get the DART.

Head south down Sandymount Avenue to Merrion Road. Clayton Hotel is directly opposite, on the corner of Merrion Road and Simmons court Road.
