Responsible Business Compass

The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment is delighted to invite you to the Responsible Business Compass kick-off event which has been developed in conjunction with the OECD and funded by the European Commission. The event will take place from 9:30a.m. – 5:00p.m. at 15 George’s Quay, Dublin 2 on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.

Members of the business community, policymakers, academics and more are encouraged to attend this event to gain insight into and contribute towards the development of the Responsible Business Compass. The evolving responsible business regulatory sphere poses many challenges for policymakers and businesses in Ireland but also provides opportunities. The aim of the Compass is to help businesses better understand their responsibilities in this space which should help reduce the administrative burden on their operations, which is particularly important for SMEs.

The morning session held at expert-level will aim to present the key findings of the Project and explore critical issues. Business and community participants will be invited to raise questions and share ideas on what the future Responsible Business Compass could look like. The high-level afternoon session with an opening address from Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, Niamh Smyth TD, will officially launch the public consultation allowing interested stakeholders to give their opinions on what a Responsible Business Compass could look like and support businesses on their responsible business journey. There will also be interventions from high-level representatives from Ireland’s government, the European Commission and the OECD, and insights from businesses to academia on the importance of responsible business practices.

Highlights include:

• Address from Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, Niamh Smyth TD
• Keynote addresses from both the OECD and the European Commission
• Opportunity for a hands-on experimentation with the OECD’s Power BI tool and live feedback
• Panel discussions with a broad range of stakeholders e.g. businesses, academia, policymakers
• Networking lunch

GETTING TO 15 GEORGE’S QUAY, DUBLIN 2:

On foot: 15 George’s Quay is centrally located and is approximately a 15-minute walk from both Stephen’s Green and O’Connell St.

By bus: The 15, 151, 27, 39A and 60 buses all go via George’s Quay.

By Dart: The nearest Dart station, Tara St, is just one minute walk. See Irishrail.ie for times and tickets.

By Luas: The nearest Luas stop is Westmoreland St, a 6-minute walk.

By car: We encourage attendees to use public transport where possible but if car parking is needed, Fleet Street Q-Park, Jervis Street Car Park, and others are all within walking distance.
