Enchanted Forest Book Nook - 2 session workshop course with Artist Rachel Kirby *OPEN TO JUCD STAFF WITHIN THE NHS
This workshop is open to all staff employed by UHDB and staff from associate organisations
Enter a world where stories grow mossy roots and tiny lanterns glow beneath the trees. In this enchanting workshop, you’ll create your own miniature forest, all nestled inside a wooden book nook that slips perfectly onto your bookshelf.
Using a blend of upcycled treasures, natural materials, and a sprinkle of imagination, you’ll craft a tiny world filled with winding pathways, hidden corners, and magical details that invite the eye to wander. This is a calming, mindful experience where simple materials transform into something beautifully unique.
You’ll leave with a handcrafted book nook that brings a touch of nature, creativity, and quiet enchantment to your home.
Workshop dates (both sessions included):
- Tuesday 8th September 6pm - 8pm

This event has been created for UHDB employees and staff from associate organisations as part of Air Arts’ ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of UHDB staff.
Designed specifically for staff working across the five sites of the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, the workshops offers a space to pause, reflect and reconnect through creativity and community.
Each workshop is funded by Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity from donations and fundraising received from supporters.
Air Arts, the charity's arts programme, has curated this event in close collaboration with staff, ensuring it responds directly to the needs and experiences of those who care for others every day.
A non-refundable* charge and booking fee is payable by each participant and helps to cover some of the costs of materials. This fee is a small percentage of what the cost, per person, for the workshop would be if independently booked. Additional donations are welcome but not expected.
The charity would encourage staff to show support by taking part in fundraising or taking part in charity events. Information on how you can support Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity can be found by visiting www.dbhc.org.uk
