About the event
A wing walk blasts you with pure sky‑high adrenaline the moment the plane lifts, flooding you with wind, speed, and unstoppable energy. Frequently asked questions
Are spectators allowed to attend?
Due to limited facilities and staffing at the airfield, we must kindly ask that each participant limits their number of spectators to a maximum of 4 per wing walker.
Our top priority is ensuring the health and safety of everyone on-site, and unfortunately, we’re unable to safely accommodate larger groups.
What should I wear when I complete my wing walk?
It is important that wing walkers arrive wearing fitted clothing. The wind chill can be quite cold so warm layers are ideal plus a coat without a hood.
Please wear trainers or soft grippy-soled secure shoes that fully cover the whole foot.
The wind force is incredibly strong so no loose articles or clothing are allowed.
For those with long hair we recommend tying it back or plaiting it securely. You will also be asked to remove all jewellery.
We provide goggles, ear plugs and (optional) flying overalls.
Small-framed glasses can be worn underneath our wing walking goggles, although if they do not fit comfortably then you will have to fly without your glasses as it is not an option to fly without wearing the goggles.
Contact lenses can be worn during flight.
During the Spring and Autumn months we would recommend bringing a warm pair of secure gloves.
I have a medical condition, can I wing walk?
In order to wing walk you will need to confirm you have not suffered from any of the following conditions:
Epilepsy, fits, severe head injury, recurrent blackouts, fainting fits or giddiness, disease of the brain or nervous system, high blood pressure, heart or lung disease, recurrent weakness or dislocation of any limb, diabetes, mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction.
If you suffer from these conditions but are regularly monitored by your doctor and the condition is medicated and under control, then you can fly with us.
If you have any concerns at all regarding your health, fitness and ability to wing walk, then we ask that you consult your doctor.
Are there any access issues I need to be aware of?
In order to wing walk you will be required to climb completely unassisted up to and down from the top wing of one of our Boeing Super Stearman biplanes. This is a steep climb of approximately 10ft/3m, involving a high leg lift up on to the bottom wing (however we do have purpose built steps to assist if required) and another high leg lift to get over the side of the cockpit, kneeling and pulling yourself up using the various struts and wires to get on to the top wing.
What happens if the weather is too bad to fly?
Wing walking is a weather-dependent activity. Please check our Weather Status online the day prior to your experience (from around 3pm). If conditions are unsuitable and we are grounded, see our Weather Update page for steps on how to reschedule your flight. Please note that if we are grounded for all flights then the airfield will be closed, so please do check the status before you travel.

Can the pilot perform aerobatics during my wing walk?
Wing Walking is an extreme experience; therefore, no aerobatics are permitted. However, the wing walker will have the opportunity to tailor their flight with the Pilot to achieve the maximum adrenaline experience or a more relaxed flight, if they wish.
Can I communicate with the pilot during my flight?
The wing walker can only communicate with the pilot by using hand signals, which are fully explained at the health and safety briefing.
Is there anything else I need to know?
To avoid the possibility of a serious accident, alcohol consumption is not allowed under any circumstances on the airfield.
The wing walk company cannot delay flight if family & friends have not arrived in time.
The airfield has a café serving hot and cold food and drinks.
The airfield has toilets, car parking and excellent viewing facilities of the wing walking experience.
