Kabbalat Shabbat and Philosophy

Enjoy Kabbalat Shabbat at Der Nister! Rabbi Zach Golden leads the musical services and Rabbi Ye'ela Rosenfeld will teach us philosophical ideas related to the parshah. Then we eat and the discussion flows. We'll have a fantastic meal from Holy Grill — fish, chicken, rice, veggie options and drinks.

Hospitality (Hachnasat Orkhim) is an integral Der Nister value. It is very important for our services to have a wholesome Shabbat meal to go with it. To make sure that no one is turned away, while guaranteeing we can cover the real costs of food, drinks, and community gathering, we are introducing a new pricing structure for Kabbalat Shabbat and Philosophy dinners.

If you're able, choosing a higher priced tier helps support the people who need a lower-priced option.

Pricing Levels:

Mitzvah Level priced at $36: Covers your meal and helps sponsor someone who can't pay full price.
Mensch Level priced at $25: Covers your share of the actual meal cost.
Davener Level priced at $15: For students or anyone for whom the standard price is a stretch. No questions asked.
Tsadik Level priced at $180: Helps underwrite part of the cost of the evening and keep it accessible for the community.
