Music in the City Local Talent Gig Night

Watching the Buzzards, Palookaville & Margarita Sleepover join us for a Local talent gig night at the Design Chapel, Southampton's newest (and possibly oldest) intimate venue. Brought to you by Music in the City, a not for profit organisation, who’s new found mission is to support the Southampton musical community beyond their annual multi venue festival in September, enabling live music events for both established artists and emerging talent in our City.

Doors 6pm, Music from 6.30pm to 9pm. Over 18s only. Licensed Bar.

£8 early bird ticket price on the first 35 tickets - please buy early to support the musicians with your commitment to this event. Tickets, if available, will be higher priced on the door.

Watching the Buzzards
Hampshire based band Watching the Buzzards feature the sophisticated compositions and introspective lyrics of Southampton Singer Songwriter Mike Davies. Reminiscent of classic folk rock, rock and Americana. “Quality, crafted soul-searching music.” Louder Than War.

Palookaville
Hailing from Hampshire Palookaville play sweet Americana folk inspired by the likes of Neil Young, Wilco, Ryan Adams and Neil Finn to name a few. Singer songwriter Matt Burke combines sensitive songwriting with memorable melodies that like to lean into the lilting warm summer vibes. Currently a trio, Matt is joined by Michael Davies on dreamy pedal steel guitar and astral BV’s plus the legendary fingers of Jimmy Cole (often seen playing with Martin Stephenson and the Dainties) adding his sparkling electric guitar.

Margarita Sleepover
A narrative stamped by powerful yet nuanced vocal delivery that conveys vulnerability and strength from thought provoking sentiments. A cocktail of midnight melodies that make up the Margarita Sleepover sound. More info on Facebook and Instagram.
