Join us on Thursday nights for a six week semester taking us to the end of Spring. During these early evening sessions we will be exploring the power of the hermit, loneliness, solitude, quiet, stillness, emptiness, trance states, euphoria, synaesthesia, and ritual.

Prompts will be inspired by poetry, prose, film and music from gnostics, mystics and weirdos, including David Lynch, Hildegaard von Bingen, Alice Notley, Sun Ra, James Baldwin, Yoko Ono, Wong Kar Wei and other surprises.

As always, there will be a mixture of watching, reading, listening, talking and writing, and as always there’s no preparation or homework, just bring yourself and your writing instruments of choice. We will never put you on the spot or ask you to share what you’ve just written, but there will be opportunities each week to speak to the group, to communicate with each other and, in the final week, to share a bit of your own work in a closing ritual.

In order to nurture a regular writing practice, and a sense of community, we encourage attendees to come every week and are offering tickets for the entire term only. We will continue to offer a sliding scale, based on trust and kindness, and hope this offers people a fair pricing system dependent on their availability and income.

Pricing structure:

We are offering a limited amount of full price tickets that include a 121 with Sophie on your writing practice.

We are offering a full price ticket for waged attendees.

We are offering a non means-tested concession price based on trust.

We are also offering two scholarship places and one scholarship +121 with Sophie, which have now been allocated and you will receive an email shortly if you've been allocated one.
