The drama is adapted from Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s brilliantly penned novel from 15th century Bengal, a gripping tale with a complex web of drama and fascinating characters.The story is set in the backdrop of the bustling island town of Nabadwip. Flanked on both sides by the mighty Ganges, Nabadwip was known as a seat of spiritual erudition in erstwhile Bengal. But alongside that, the town was rankled by heinous oppression from various Brahmanical sects, the plight of which was borne majorly by the womenfolk.
